Imo, it's not that he's just coming for the check or that he quit, he's just not a very good fit for this team.

His whole game is based on having a pass rush. If he's on a team that can get the qb, he can jam guys and stop slants where other cbs might give up position and allow the qb to hit a quick target or escape valve.
