If you only have a weekend I strongly suggest picking one neighborhood and seeing all it has to offer. There's so much to do in the city that it can be overwhelming to try to hop from one end to the other. If you're in your late 20s/early 30s I suggest hitting up the East Village.

Also, the 9/11 Memorial Museum was an incredible experience. Set aside at least 3 hours for that.
