Are you fricking kidding? Look what Rudy did for NYC.

Mitch has overseen the biggest shortfall of NOPD officers in history. The police force is so ridiculously insufficient that a private fricking citizen had to organize his own security force to try and protect our most famous neighborhood.

I was willing to give Mitch a chance over the years and liked somethings he did early on. But at this point, it is beyond obvious he is, it is beyond obvious that he is nothing but an abject disaster.

Would you agree that Rudy didn't have the financial issues we have here in Nola?

Obviously, but he had x100 times the headaches. People really don't realize how bad NYC truly was. We are talking the most epic of shitholes at the time (and the current mayor is letting it fall back down again).

the budget isn't the problem for the police department. They're already budgeted for 1,500 officers I believe

I feel safe walking around Manhattan at all hours of the day and night because there are police patrols everywhere you look. The answer is to hire more cops. This should be priority number one and come off the top of the budget. If we do not pay for anything else we should pay for this. N.Y. also has a stop and frisk policy that has been upheld by the courts.
