Lot's of bad mojo on this team

Overpaid for a 35 year old QB that might have 2 good years left
No OL protection
No deep threat or clutch WR's
Horrible, Horrible defense (for 5 years now with no improvements)
DB's who do not know how to play the position
Poor draft picks and free agent signings
Let the best talent go out the door (Graham and many others)
This article about sums it up:

Brees has not looked great. He doesn't have nearly the OL interior and the outside weapons he had in years past, and he suffered a big hit early that might have thrown him off his game. But a Bucs defense that was feckless in Week 1 got entirely too many clear shots on Brees, and it's at the point where the QB's season-long health has to be a concern Saints.
Conversely, while New Orleans' defense did sack Jameis Winston three times and forced him to lose a fumble, he managed to throw for 207 yards with two total touchdowns and no interceptions.
Ultimately, a bad defense. A spotty, limited offense. And a home-field advantage — that's now six straight losses at the Superdome, dating back to last season — that is no longer such.
A winning formula it is not. The Saints are in last place in the NFC South and the climb back up will be tough.

Defense has played good enough for us to win, they are definitely better than last year. Although that Breaux gif that has been posted looks like a Madden glitch he he was good yesterday. Offense just looks bad, I agree. We had a good offseason, but needed to do what we did this year for 2-3 years now. Hopefully next offseason and draft is like this and they do something with Brees contract.

no OL protection
This one I agree with, but they're working on it.

We didn't overpay for a HOF superbowl winning franchise QB who was playing at the top of his game and cracking NFL records.

Horrible, Horrible defense (for 5 years now with no improvements)
5 years ago we won a super bowl because of our defense. 4 years ago our defense was arguable better. 3 years ago we lost a huge draft stock, defensive coordinator, half our defensive starters, defensive assistant coach, head coach, and GM.
This year we finally reinvested in the defense with a crop of new young guys who have a lot of potential.

DB's who do not know how to play the position
They're rookies and they made some great plays and some busted ones. They need time to adjust. Not every single drafted rookie becomes Richard Sherman or Champ Bailey on day 1.

et the best talent go out the door (Graham and many others)
Name all of the others. And we could and shouldn't have paid graham the money he wanted.

That article is spot on ... name one thing that our team does well? There is no facet of our game (offense, defense, special teams) that we can hang our hat on. Even shitty teams like Jacksonville can boast that they have strong line play.

You can see the offense CAN make plays but CSP then dials up 3 explosive plays for no gain.
Whatever the cause/causes this offense needs some rhythm and fast.

My man Breesus!
Got a question -- do you think Carmichael calling the plays with CSP back at being just the HC could make a difference with this offense?

Pretty spot on. I do think something needs to be done with Brees contract after this season. Maybe an extension? Something to lessen cap hit. Really, all our draft picks and FA pickups have looked good except our LB from Miami (damnit, name escapes me) hopefully he will be back soon.

They are playing better. They seem to be generating turnovers, albeit through stripping the ball rather than interceptions. But still, the problem seem to be that the offense can't stay on the field.
