Yankees - Red Sox hasn't seemed to be as big of a deal this year

Espn used to cover at least one game every series those teams played

With a slight spin, I'll take games that someone would have bitch-slapped you for mentioning 15 years ago, but are now elite match-ups:

Baylor vs. TCU

Baylor was 3-8 (0-8 in conference) in 2001. Interestingly, their head coach at the time was Kevin Steele, the current DC for LSU.

TCU was 6-6 in Gary Patterson's first year.

He seems to know what he's doing.

Memphis at Bowling Green just might be the best game this weekend.

and BYU at UCLA starting at 9:30 could be a great night cap.

Oklahoma vs Nevraska was must see TV on Thanksgiving in the 70's and 80's. The one from the early 70's is still considered by many to be the best game ever played.

LSU vs Tulane

This. It was a big deal in the 60's and before....then Tulane made perhaps one of the worst decisions ever in sports and got out of the SEC

Their 2005 game was one of the most hyped regular season games I can ever remember.
I remember this game like it was yesterday.

I don't know what the CFB historian say, but for me PSU's dumping the Pitt rivalry and going for the big $$$ in the Big 10 was the opening of our current era of conference musical chairs

I thought SEC expansion happened either the year before that or at least the same year.
