What's wrong with this option in the first place? My dogs have always stayed outside during the day. WAY better for them than being in a kennel all day. I feel terrible when it's raining and they have to be kenneled all day. Also, look into dog day-care type places. Usually $7-10/day and they get all kinds of exercise and interaction with other dogs. Even bringing your dog once or twice a week should help immensely with the boredom in general.

This is a good thing to look into.... Go drop them off at petropolitan and let them play with other dogs. Do it 2-3 Xs a week and if you really enjoy your dog this would more than likely allow you to keep it. Cost is rather low and they take good care of the dogs. I board my GSP there and bring him every now and then to play if I'm going to be busy with work. I say them b/c they are the only ones in town (that I know of) that will board a dog that is in tact.
