This would be clever if it weren't so tired. Words are infused with meaning by history, people, and what we call language. The word itself is entirely benign (again, I'm a Spanish speaker and was called that in good faith in Latin America). But people who use it here do so to make a point. And that speaks volumes about how they view their place in the world (and others by proxy).
