How dare you list Night Riders Lament under Garth Brooks. Doesn't come close to Jerry Jeff Walkers version. But I agree, a wonderful song

I agree, though Night Riders Lament was done by lots of artist, Jerry Jeffs is my favorite.

So much like my dad
Holding my own
Friday night fever
Thoughts of a fool

I loved how he used to include an old western type song on each album.
"The Cowboy Song" is one of my all time favorites.
"Chill of an Early Fall" and "Back to Bein Me" are 2 of my favorite George Strait songs that weren't released on radio.

"thoughts of a fool", "i know one", "drinking Champagne" are not their original songs (Ernest Tubb, Jim Reeves, Carl Smith). They were popular songs years ago. No one likes that style any more
so maybe that's why they aren't popular
I love those songs - both versions but i like classic country
