i'm scared of tinkering with my instructions b/c of how well i'm playing, but one reason i was interested in belgium was to keep all 4 back on defense. i don't need my FBs pushing up and i'd rather play defensive across the back 4 and allow my CMs more freedom to move up. it's anti-real soccer but works for me in FIFA

big thing is that when i get chances on the break, my wingers have to make stuff happen b/c i won't get many opportunities to score. i like defense and waiting for the right chances to try to score. i also try to keep 55% of possession and i'll dink the ball around the back line until my opponent gets angry and commits too much. i find i'm much saver with 4 back and using the width rather than using the middle like in real soccer.

main reason why is the most dangerous thing you can do is lose the ball in the middle of the field while your players are moving forward. it allows a tackle, pass to CAM/CF, and then a through ball to a streaking winger or ST that is going to be dangerous as frick. if you lose it in a similar fashion on the wing in the midfield, it's a lot more difficult for the offense to get a cheap opportunity and sometimes your CBs moving the "wrong way" will leave them directly in the passing lanes of the ST/CAM

if a winger gets through, i'll use the sidelines as extra defenders and take my chances. if the opponent can't cross well, you just have to watch out for a "wow" dribbling display to get into the box

I definitely agree on losing the ball in midfield on the attack. It's killer, but that's why I prefer a fast defense to a strong one. But the reason I love Ozil is I rarely lose possession with him in the midfield. I'll work it to him get by a guy and force the opposing fullback up. I'll through it to Walcott or Oxlade and not release the sprint button. I'm either cutting in really quick to give a streaking ramsay or Cazorla a through ball at the top of the box for an open look or racing down the endline if they play the sideline defense. I'm getting a good look to ozil or sanchez in the box or I'm getting a corner.

Just one of my plays but I run it a lot especially a guy who is aggressive on defense because with Walcott and Oxlade's speed, they have to guess whether I'm cutting in or streaking down the endline.

Other than that I'm with you, I keep the ball out wide because losing it in the midfield is so costly.
