The article linked in the OP was straight up bare bones with just a few sentences. No details on the incident if the cop was off duty or on duty or even if the perps knew he was a cop.

Lived in cypress my whole life .
It has turned a little ghetto , but nothing worse than anywhere else .
With social media the way it is , and accessibility to information so easy to attain , the crazies are gonna come out of all places to do this .
