Nope, that's probably the one and only complaint I have with the game mode.

I noticed this last night and I could be missing something but it appears that you can't create multiple players/coaches/owners in Franchise. If you want to create a new character you have to retire the one you currently have active. If that's the case then it's a really dumb move on EA's part to do that
