It's difficult for some former pro athletes to integrate into society post career. Same for actors/actresses.
Their whole identity changes, it can be a challenge for many.

I think some overlook the fact many started playing when they were 5 or 6 years old. So when they retire at 35 they have been doing/playing their job for 30 years already, yet have 40 to 50 years of life to go. That has to be pretty weird.
