So I shouldn't run out and buy that 43" Vizio 4k I had my eye on at Costco? My Samsung is dying a slow painful death.

unless you plan on sitting 2-5 feet from it you won't be able to tell the difference between it or a 1080p screen. If you can find a cheaper 1080p, i'd go with the 1080p.
