No doubt I'd love to have Collins, but we don't. This has been discussed so many times on here. It just needs to be left alone.

I can promise unless it's a Saints/cowboys game I won't start a Collins thread.

I was adamant about drafting Collins during draft season because of the team's huge question marks at guard. One, he is a gifted athlete. Two, he plays with a mean streak that many of the great ones play with. His nastiness & willingness to finish blocks reminds me of Carl Nicks.

The entire situation surrounding him during the draft was unfortunate. What adds to the frustration is that the Saints didn't even pay him visit afterwards when he was basically in their own backyard & all he wanted was some team to show faith in him.

Also, fans see the current situation at guard & realize we have one player there who is declining at an accelerated rate to the point that he is hardly recognizable anymore. Our other guard is guy who couldn't even beat a washed up center in the previous training camp. Throw in the negative reports so far from training camp plus a bad showing from both in the first preseason game & paranoia begins to set in.

I will admit though, the numerous post & threads about La'el have gotten old. The majority of those post & threads are not well put together because some people simply lack the ability to put their actual thoughts into words. In the end, they are just fans who want to see the team win & they realize that protecting Brees at all cost has proven to be successful. When that hasn't been the case, the results have been mixed. Some fans are just tired of the mixed results especially with Brees getting up in age.
