Tons of videos out on the web. As others said, the 5 gallon bucket with tubing or PVC coming off of it seems to be the standard.
We always did Christmas trees. Catfish like actual cavelike structures, barrels and such. The problem with those is getting your lure into the structure when they're on the beds. We used to have a rip rap retaining wall that big cats would come up and spawn in the "caves" right on our shoreline. Used to put some big nasty soft plastic on a fly rod and aggravate the hell out of them cane pole style until they'd take. Catching an 8 lb. cat on a 6 weight is pretty fun.

I have token old garbage cans, cut holes though them on 3 sides - ive done some small <1" and some several inches in diameter - and then add concrete and lay them over for the concrete to set.
Not sure if the big holes work better or the little holes.
