H&K is a pretty good gun for a novice (assuming you are a novice). Springs will be fine. Research ammo if its for home defense. Some rounds are made to penetrate further (dangerous in close quarters), some are made to barely go through dry wall (but dont have great reviews or stopping power). Biggest thing is practicing and being comfortable with a gun. Outdoor Board is a better place where you cam find tons of threads on this type of stuff.
