but its in the french quarter.

FQ defender here, btw. When i entertain out of town friends, this is the area they like the most. FQ, then to the marigny. It has the most things to do, best sights, interesting people, music, etc. Bourbon Street isnt the only gem of the FQ.

Dip out into uptown to have dinner, give a small tour. See the oak trees and houses on St Charles, or whatever other people consider entertaining in uptown for out of towners. Shopping on Magazine? freaking lame. The neighborhood vibe is cool for locals, but it's not very interesting for out of towners. Maybe older people you entertain. Im in my early 30s.

The thousands who clog the fricking sidewalks and cause traffic jams, especially between Washington and Napoleon, seem to contradict that notion.
