re: What Would Have Been Better: DisneySea USA or WestCOT?

The problem with this comparison is that I seriously doubt Port Disney would have ended up like Tokyo DisneySea has. Most people that have been to Tokyo have declared DisneySea to be the best Disney park in the world. Management at The Oriental Land Company has to get a lot of the credit. That's definitely not the same management that was in California at the same time. Port Disney more than likely would have had the same issues that California Adventure faces when it first opened. They would have cut corners and tried to save as much money as possible. I fear that may have been the fate for WestCOT as well. But the plans and concepts for WestCOT look incredible.

World Showcase
WestCOT’s World Showcase would have been different than EPCOT’s. Instead of representing individual countries, WestCOT would have grouped nations by regions. World Showcase would have been a representation of the four corners of the world. The four pavilions would have been The Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. World Showcase would have also been home to WestCOT’s signature attraction, The River of Time. At that time, it would have been the longest ride in Disney history. Guests would have sailed around the World Showcase on a world cruise while audio animatronics scenes would depict cultural and evolutionary stories of theworld’s civilizations. The entire loop around the “world” would have taken about 45 minutes. Guests would have been able to board at any of five ports, with the trip between ports taking about 9 minutes.

They really need to make a new theme park in the USA. They made 3 from 89-01 but nothing in the 14 years since. They have room for about 4 more parks in Orlando.
