That's not a reason to over charge him. Should he be roughed up by a parent? Sure. Even spend a little time in jail? Sure. He did something stupid, not life altering. He shouldn't lose his future over something like this. I would imagine reckless endangerment is a felony right?

What if he thought he knew them and was simply mistaken. Have you never been in a situation where someone wasn't who you thought they were? Harmless mistake maybe?
It was a wet willy people. He didn't rub poop in the kid's hair.
