YEP.Don't even have to go back to the court of record and have them clear you. It's automatic.
Now getting around the Federal NICS database for purchasing a firearm from a dealer is different i think. I haven't tried it so i'm kind of up in the air about trying to purchase a firearm from a dealer because i would have to technically lie on the form they have you fill out.

yep, any "NO" answers will get you turned down by many dealers before NICS is even contacted.



From the FBI NICS instruction manual for FFL dealers:

quote:

B. It is the responsibility of the FFL to review questions 11(a)-11(l) on the ATF Form 4473 to determine whether the NICS check should be initiated.

1. If the customer answered “no” to question 11(a), the FFL should not initiate the NICS check and the gun cannot be transferred.

2. If the customer answered “yes” to any of the questions 11(b)-11(k), the FFL should not initiate a NICS check and the gun cannot be transferred.
