If you are not an alter and really are black and have an engineering degree from any school, then the world is your oyster. Companies will hire you not for your engineering skills, but so that they can meet affirmative action quota's and brag about their minority hiring practices. You will have all the big companies fighting over you and making big offers. The downside is that all of your co-workers will assume you were hired because you are a minority instead of capable. You could be a black Albert Einstein and you won't get any respect. That, my friend, is the truth and it's sad, because all of your accomplishments will be tainted. That is the downside of affirmative action.
