Southern Engineering grads are very weak and seem to have problems passing the FE...
I've interviewed many Southern grads and have yet to be impressed with one. I actually hired one several years back as we were desperate for help in a short time. He seemed far above the rest that I have interviewed from SU yet he lasted less than 6 months. He was incapable of performing basic engineering, stuff that is 4th and 5th semester skills. He finally realized that whenever he was assigned a task more than simple math, he would have to admit he didn't know how. It was sad.
As for the other interviews, there are so many things that go wrong. Most fail to even show a "professional attitude." Coming to an interview in jeans and a polo for a (pre)professional position is a huge strike right off. Trying to skirt by using catch phrases and buzz words is bad enough, but using them in completely incorrect context is just plain dumb. Showing no enthusiasm and constantly giving 3 word responses is never going to score a position. I don't care if the question is technically "answerable" in a single word, you must expand on it. Make me interested in you.

This is a good anecdote generally speaking. Thanks for the input.
