I usually try and let them pass. You never know their situation. I was trying to get my son to the hospital Monday afternoon, and frickers decided they would do 2 below the speed limit. I rode their arse a bit.

I'm pretty sure I broke about 19 traffic laws the night I was taking my son to the Children's ER. There was one car I was about to pull a Nascar on and give them a little bump if they didn't move. The emergency flashers, flipping my high beams at them, and laying on the horn apparently didn't register with them to get out of the left lane of I-65 going 45MPH.
To answer the OP, I drive a Jeep, so I'm rarely in the left or passing lane on interstates. I move over if I can, and if it isn't going to stick me in a line of cars and not let me get back over. Surface streets, forget it. I'm usually in the lane of my next turn if it is a multi-lane road. I also don't have to brake check. Just downshift and lay off the gas. If they want a bumper full of a trailer hitch, let them run into me.
