Paul Byrd weighs in now, see the Advocate.
Basically he didn't like playing for PM
Paul still respects the program and LSU and does not question PM's success at all, respects his son's decision and that their will be adversity at any level and wherever he goes.
Still can't believe he's walking away with the number of spots open but hopefully he finds what he is looking for

Man who knows what the true underlying causes of the transfer are?
The kid could be homesick or have a girlfriend he misses or just be a little soft and not be mentally strong enough to handle PM's style of coaching. If there truly was some perceived mistreatment of his son I highly doubt that Paul Byrd would have said anything complimentary of PM. Just because a kid is the son of a former Tiger great doesn't mean he is built of the same stuff. Good luck to the young man.
