As for OP, I've had to stop somewhere like that before for bathroom or something quick. I always say to the gf, "don't acknowledge a god damned thing anyone says to you if it's obviously trying to start shite".

Not to say it's the boy's fault for defending his girl but it was very immature to even reply or acknowledge their shite-stirring. Just get the frick in the car and GTFO.
