Tend to agree. I see this offseason as a complete change in philosophy. I think they are making good decisions by trading skill guys for offensive lineman. The junior thing is just bad luck. The one area of concern i have, is we did nothing to improve our defensive line. I think that will keep us from being a good defense.

Look what dallas d with the unknown. We upgraded our offense to a run first pass second type offense. Which takes pressure off defense by controlling clock . Patriots win super bowls because they controlling situations with clock management better than anyone. Seattle does the same. Jimmy was talented but offense was getting stale. We took a step back but it will pay off for the defense. If not Grayson comes in for drew near the end we see what we have with him. Drew could end up like the Brett favre situation and look how that turn out for the packers. The best case scenario playoffs, the worst case we have decision to make to make a culture change.

Not too far off in your summation. It seems the drafting approach has been very amateurish and we're paying the price.

Unfortunately, the New Orleans Saints traditionally are a very losing pro sports franchise.

We've experienced some fantastic recent success for which we will all be forever grateful.

BUT, the OP is correct. The Saints don't appear to be building on that success. In fact, IMHO, the Saints are in danger of falling back to their traditional losing ways.

Hard to be worse than last year. If you can't make the playoffs with Brees at QB they need to either trade him to get whatever value they can(assuming he'll allow it) or let him retire because the situation obviously isn't going to get better anytime soon. It all hinges on this season. If we do just as bad or worse, it's time to seriously start thinking about offloading Brees if he still wants to play. Not a knock on him but using the Patriots strategy of getting as much as you can for a vet and we're not going to win with him anymore anyway so get what you can.
