It does nothing to validate your point. If your only consideration is for freshmen quarterbacks, there is no purpose in discussing Mettenberger at all. In a ten year coaching tenure, there have been only two such quarterbacks recruited out of high school (both by Gary Crowton) to have seen the field... and they led us to a National Championship as seniors.
