95% of the bars are off High St. High St essentially runs north to south parallel to Ohio State's east side of campus (there are literally class buildings right across the street). The problem is the stadium is on the west side of campus (or middle if you talk to an Ag student).
The bar I mentioned, Bier Stube, is off High St but is the furthest south of all good campus bars. I lived on the southeast side of campus from my sophomore year on so it was a frequent bar for me. I always felt like it's the one campus bar that doesn't get a bunch of obnoxious college students. It's basically a good ole dive bar.

Now maybe I was just unaware at the time and this has always been the case, but I was surprised how built up everything was from between south campus (Gatewayish) to Short North. Maybe it's the brand new Kroger, but I always thought there was a somewhat rougher stretch for a few blocks.
Anyways, I'm sad to be leaving my current locations (Nashville), but Columbus really is an underrated city.
