Nothing "has" to be done by a dealer
$3800 to replace two struts will always be a ripoff. ETA: Perhaps Jake will tell us what type of car he was driving.

I know what kinda and it's something I would've sent and took to the dealer unfortunately. Hopefully insurance helped baw out.
