The company isn't on the hook to begin with. The company didn't want that flag flying in their parking lot and gave him the ultimatum. His choice of not taking the flag down was basically his resignation.

Chevron, Exxon, Shell and on.....if you are parking on company property - that vehicle is under their control - same rule applies with fire arms in your vehicles - it is a no no.
