Excuse me if I'm wrong it's been awhile but didn't dumbledore and snape have an alliance to protect harry and wasn't snape the one that actually killed dumbledore instead of malfroy when he chickened out.

Dumbledore was going to die regardless due to wearing the ring. Snape tells him as much. Snape was put under the unbreakable vow by Bellatrix with mrs. Malfoy. Either way, Snape was going to kill Dumbledore if Malfoy didnt. Dumbledore wanted to protect Malfoy from that lifestyle, so he made Snape promise to do it, as it had 3 important pieces.1) Malfoy would not become a killer. 2)Snape kept his double agent role. 3) Dumbledore was going to die anywy.
