Why do so many of us have such high expectations for this year?

the expectations are set too high bc when miles loses a game or two they can call for his job.

this is the same mindset that thinks we are equal to Alabama in recruiting every yr. it's either willful ignorance or intentional in order to point out coaching shortcomings bc it obviously can't be the talent or execution on the field. coaching has to be the only factor.

realistically speaking, LSU has a good chance to be very good this year. but a slim chance to be great imo. big question marks at QB, DL, and the new defense/DC in general. maybe it will work in our favor. LSU seems to do well the lesser the expectations.

Nonsense. Nobody is calling for Les' job if he goes 11-1 or 10-2. Nobody.

who's ultimately in charge of putting talent on the field and teaching them to execute?

It's not like it's fair to say, oh well give coach a break because he is in his 11th season and doesn't have the same talent as some of the other teams. He's in CHARGE of that.

I think we go 9-3 this year with a bowl win to secure 10-3. Fan base gets restless, but barring anything short of 4-8, Les comes back. I think we'll poised for greatness in 2016 though. Experienced QBs, Dupre, Fournette, Godchaux, and Adams all will be juniors, better DL depth, 2nd year to learn Defensive system, big time recruiting class coming in to learn behind the vets.

For the program to get back on top, we have to win 9-10 games and absolutely cannot afford to go 7-5.
