Tyrann Mathieu nearly singlehandedly beat Georgia in the 2011 SECCG. Jefferson had very little to do with the outcome of that game.
This is true. Blue and Hilliard had 70 % of our entire offensive output.
One LSU QB was a running threat, and he could effectively run an option offense. One LSU QB was not a running threat, and he could not effectively run an option offense.

If a QB can is a running threat, and he effectively runs an option and pitches the ball, then he has a big impact on the offense but he does not accrue offensive output stats. LSU ran the ball better with Jefferson than Lee. Moreover, LSU gained offensive yards against Georgia when Jefferson ran the option and pitched the ball.

Finally, the point of my post is that Miles did not give up against Georgia by keeping Jefferson in the game and not replacing him with Lee. LSU won the SECCG despite trialing at halftime.

ShortyRob thinks Miles threw in the towel in the BCSCGG by sticking with Jefferson. However, as demonstrated in my post, sticking with Jefferson for the second half despite trailing at the half, or four minutes before the half, had proved to be a successful strategy in the three previous HUGE games.

Miles didn't quit by sticking with Jefferson in the second half of the BCSCG. Miles was following a successful strategy.

I said I don't dispute for broader point... Just that that one game wasn't the best example.

In all, I tend to agree with you.

Right. But after 3 quarters of trying the option with very little production, you have to at least try something new. Now I'm not saying Lee would've done better because his career stats against Bama are atrocious. I've also see your point. Our oline was playing horrible and JJ was running for his life and posters on here think putting in a less mobile qb that was horrible when his pocket got muddy is an answer. I don't believe JLEE would've done better but we shouldve tried something new.
