As a rule of thumb, the upkeep for mansions annually is typically 10% of the original purchase price of the home. I would not want a house of that size unless I was married with about 10 kids. That is unlikely at this point. 2,000 - 3,000 square feet is perfect sized.

Dude. No one in a million dollar home is paying $100k per year upkeep.
