how the frick could you barely live on 65k/year combined without children? living above your means?
I make, with 2 jobs about $55,000 a year, before taxes, 4 kids, and stay at home wife, and feel rich.
So saying all that, obviously I wasn't the wisest kid after graduation. I worked at Lowes while in college and was already so freaking broke, but some banker guys came in and convinced me to sign a bunch of papers and I just didn't have a clue what I was signing. Well, I had never had a bank account and was signing up for an account with direct deposit.
Well fast forward several months and I go to get my paycheck and it says This is not a Check. I thought that was weird but took it to place I used to cash my checks in the ghetto and they said they couldn't do anything with it. I called Lowes up and they were like, apparently you have a bank that it direct deposited into, I said no, that can't be right. I freaked out and couldn't imagine why I couldn't cash my check so I went to one of those loan places and got like $200 to last me a few weeks to see what happened when next check came in 2 weeks later same thing. I go home and started to get ready for class and was looking for a certain school book, found all that paper work from months before and realized after reading through it I signed up for direct deposit, I had to call Lowes to figure out what the hell direct deposit was. That was how I opened my first bank account. Its a wonder I can put my shoes on.
