Except when they get the wrong guy. Happens often enough with all the checks and balances in our justice system. I shudder to think what would happen if we outsourced it to mob rule.
Hard to feel any sympathy for this guy, but it's not a path we want to start down as a society.

Murder is still murder, especially if you think the victim deserved it. Which this guy probably did.
Besides, what about when this happens in a different situation where the person was wrongly accused?
