So far the best feature of Project Fi is the Nexus 6 phone with the latest Android build, and without all of the bloatware my old carrier used to run on their phone.

SMS messages on Project Fi consistently appear in under 10 seconds, while my old Sprint phone could take hours. This is a big deal for me because I use SMS to authenticate to several websites.

Another bonus is that Project Fi charges $0.01 per minute to call landlines in Mexico. A family member is vacationing there this week, and it's nice to have clear, dirt-cheap calls.

Only downside I've seen so far(granted it's only been a couple of days) is the cell signal isn't as strong inside buildings as AT&T's was. Not that big of a deal as I'm usually on Wifi while inside, and I did read T-Mobile was upgrading all their towers right now so maybe it will improve.
