Leo Sanford was a helluva salesman.

Credit to him, I saw him talk a female classmate out of having a diamond put on hers at significant expense. He told her to use the money to buy a diamond ring if she wanted one, but she would probably not wear the class ring more than a year.

He let us try on his 1958 NFL championship ring. Dude's finger was huge.

The same way they get people to buy thousands on wedding rings, and how bars gets the customers to pay their payroll, and anything like that

Create the allure of "tradition" and it's a fricking gold mine. Print as much money as you want. Nothing compels people to spend money like expectation of society
