It's not that difficult to make a great burger at home. Here I used half Angus ground chuck/half ground pork and seasoned with kosher salt and black pepper and cooked in a hot cast iron past. Put that on a pretzel bun (my wife's favorite) and dressed the way I like. Easy and delicious.

Speaking of Flemings $6 burger (which was $7 when we went), let me tell you a story.

My husband and I both ordered the burger. They come out and I take a bite, everything is good. I start to say how it is good and then look at his face and he just has this look like he is going to hurl. He spit the burger out and told me to smell the burger. It smelled like straight up shite. I am not kidding. Rotten bacteria laced meat. We sent it back and didn't so much as hear a word more from the server, a manager or the cook. No explanation, no apology for serving a shite burger, nothing. It is a shame because my burger was very good and if that had not happened we would be going back often. Their poor handling of it did not help matters. If they could have come out and explained what the issue was, we may have realized it wasn't a big deal. The only thing I could think was there must also be something wrong with my burger since I assume they make them in big batches from the same meat. Mine did not smell or taste weird but I didn't trust it.
