You can definitely have a good shot of getting away with fraud with greek organizations if you are doing smaller amounts. With students rotating in and out as treasurer every year, sorority "decorating" budgets and other things, you can easily embezzle money without drawing attention.


That's ignoring the more obvious nepotism way of making money. SO's sorority chapter advisor hired her sister, an interior designer, to decorate their chapter room.

She did a good job and everything but she charged a steeper than expected commission and didn't have competition for the job

I was a member at a local country club for years (BR). Every time a new board president gets in there his wife ends up redoing a room in the clubhouse. One local interior designer gets PAID.

I haven't been there in several years but I doubt anything has changed.

It's obscene how much money gets pissed away.
