At age 59 that's a long 3 wood, but some 3 woods can reach out there better than some drivers. I can hit my dad's Callaway Diablo 3-Draw over 300, my longest was 317. Ftr, I'm not saying that is consistent, I only do that about once in every 20-25 swings.

My point is, 278 with a three wood is easily possible. Depending on the three wood and the man.
