paul handled both the same way he did all season. he had done the "johnny wholestaff" and regulated innings like that for pitchers all season. whether that was the right move is another discussion altogether. hale and chinea had been two of our best hitters all season and had started all season. no, he's not going to bench them because they had a few bad games.

He started Person once all year. And the whole staff thing is the biggest fricking cop out. Because that's the excuse for taking out successful pitchers and leaving in the ones struggling.
Chi struggled early. Got very hot and was our best hitter for almost two months until the post season. Hale was very consistent until the post season. Don't like 5 games? How about the last 12. Numbers aren't much better.
But why does that excuse doing nothing? Are they owed something even when a championship is on the line? "Oh well. They're seniors and played all year... My hands are tied." Awesome.
