I agree - and being crazy (both of them surely are) doesn't make either of them "not" evil (both of them surely are). I'm still leaning towards calling Roof's crimes "terrorism" because of his intentions, his statements, his motivation, leaving the survivor to "tell the world", etc.. I've not seen links to organized groups or even associates, but there is still a lot to learn about this guy. I have a feeling we will get a much more thorough exploration of him than we did of the Tsarnaevs and their associates (and I'll just leave it at that).

But, in hindsight, Manson was even more clearly terrorism as he had an active following - once they started killing, the Manson family is rightly described as a hippie, anarchist, far left terrorist group. But sensibilities of the day were different then.
