I throw ribbits, usually white and buzz them with occasional stops. Spros also work well walking them. You have to give them 2-3 seconds before setting the hook. I throw a regular wide gap with ribbits in 3/0 and only use 85# braid on a 7'6 extra heavy rod.

Went again this afternoon and fished a frog from 5-7pm. Only caught 4 and the biggest one was prob 3 lbs. Missed 3 other strikes. One of them was hit good but the fish swam towards my boat so the tension wasn't there (I'm still learning)
Also tried a ribbit that my FIL had in his tackle box. It literally laid upside down in the water everytime I threw it in. It didn't haven't water in it and the hooks were set.. Any idea why it did that ha. Did we just get a faulty lure?
