I do not pretend to be a survivalist or into bushcraft, but this show has me talking to the TV about "Shelter, Water, Fire, Food".

i'm slightly intermediate in terms of wildlife survival, especially if I've got the ability to bring specific survival tools & I am truly baffled that these guys are not constructing more permanent/large shelter structures. how do they NOT have the mentality or wherewithal to know they need to build a single room sized log/branch cabin shelter?

just from the standpoint of being able to move around during the solid DAYS/NIGHTS of rain would be advantage enough. but also to keep your equipment & FIREWOOD dry...

some of their "tactics" seem like short term applications instead of true long haul $500K prize attempts. I mean, if you go out there thinking it's going to up to a year long excursion, then wouldn't you want to get out of an A frame shelter & off of the damned cold muddy ground???
