exactly, that's what makes this even crazier.
Cops arrest kid with stolen goods, get at least nickname (and I assume where he acquired them) of seller, the probable thief, from Anderson.
Cops up to that point were on it. Said in another place there's no guarantee of follow through, but it's not like it dragged on for months. We're talking 1 calendar week from when cops find items/possessor to Jennings arrest.

Sounds like cops were working through the problem.

Let me add, from a PR perspective, this is a nightmare. Once you get the thug rep, it's almost impossible to recover. The U, for example. What a POS that place was/is.
