You can't be serious with this. Taxes on diesel are exponentially higher than gas. I guess the theory is trucks/commercial transportation do a disproportionate amount of damage to our roads hence, the extra tax. Case in point, go buy farm or boat diesel, it is considerably less than gasoline and dyed so inspectors can tell the difference.

There is probably about $.05 difference.
