Next year is the 30th anniversary of Kid Icarus, Zelda, AND Metroid. If they don't have an AMAZING E3 next year then I'll just kicking myself. There's no reason why they shouldn't have the fans hyped as shite about their upcoming first party titles.

Nintendo has stated they don't really see the big deal in showing everything at E3. I don't really agree with it but I do not ever expect them to blow everyone away at e3.
