re: OT Dentists - Over-diagnosing cavities

For what its worth (which aint much) I was told that I had 2 cavities that needed filling when I was 18. I moved residence and started seeing a different dentist. The new guy said I had no cavities. This happened in the late 90s and I still have not had a cavity (subtle brag).

Moral: you should get you some "self healing" teeth like me because there is no way that dentist lied to me:)

srsly though, I think many times that shadows on the Xrays cause cavities to be over diagnosed. At least, I had one dentist tell me that such was the case.
