I'm surprised to see $1200 "safes" made out of 11ga steel.
Seems like I could make one out of 1/2" AR plate and refrac line it for a wholeeeeeeeee lot less. Why so expensive?

Many of the big box store safes are just thin bent steel around drywall. They call it composit so it sounds durable. In reality they aren't very secure as you could imagine.
